The Mission of the Environmental Services Office is to promote the protection of Norman County’s surface water, ground water and related land use issues through implementation of the environmental programs and appropriate administration of the County’s zoning ordinances.
Environmental Services is located at the Norman County Highway Department, 816 East Main Street Ada MN (North end of town).
Norman County Environmental Services consists of the Planning and Zoning, Solid Waste, Recycling and Household Hazardous Waste, Emergency Management, Flood Plain Management, Buffer Management, Courthouse Safety and Public Safety Departments. Click on the topics below for more information.

When planning a building project within the Floodplain or Shoreland District additional regulations apply, so please contact the Environmental Services office well in advance of starting any construction projects in these areas.
