Maintenance Technician - Hwy Dept

The Norman County Highway Department is accepting applications for a Maintenance
Technician. Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED. Experience in road
construction and maintenance work involving the operation of various types of motorized equipment is preferred. Must possess a valid Class A CDL license or have the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire. Wage based on experience.
Job Description: Under general supervision, performs manual labor and operates
motorized equipment used in highway and public works, maintenance and construction
work, and does related work as required.
Examples of Duties: Operates equipment such as tandem axle trucks, truck trailer
units, tractors, and dozers in a variety of construction, maintenance, resurfacing and
repair operations. Assists in general equipment maintenance, performing minor
repairs; may serve as relief for other equipment operators; may be assigned to other
maintenance and construction tasks when equipment is not in use, including any and all
tasks required in highway and public works, maintenance and construction work.
Some work duties are performed during extreme or adverse weather conditions.
